Eid al fitr is a religious feast celebrated by Muslims, it starts after Ramadan for three days and it's the feast when Muslims start to break their fasting during Ramadan month.
In the early morning, Muslims start praying Eid prayer, then they celebrate by wearing new clothes, eating sweets, and giving kids some gifts and money to make them happy.
Also, friends, relatives, and neighbors greet each other and all of the family gets together for the feast, they spend a lot of time enjoying different means of entertainment.
In conclusion, at Eid al Fitr we should keep going early for prayer, showing happiness, and giving as much to charity as possible. In fact, Eid al Fitr is a joyous occasion with important religious significance.

The masks we wear

In the last few years, we have worn masks to protect our health. In this image, we can see how our emotions can look similar or different, depending on what part of our face is showing.

But we always wear masks of some kind. The art of revealing and concealing ourselves is necessary in order to protect and nurture ourselves. However, we need to be genuine, honest, and real to ourselves and to others for healthy relationships to ensue.

Try THIS MASK MAKING ACTIVITY with your children to help foster connection with their identities.

Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity is a concept that’s been around for a while. In a nutshell, it means that brain differences are just that: differences. So conditions like ADHD and autism aren’t “abnormal.” They’re simply variations of the human brain. Scientists are realizing that these conditions emerge through a combination of genetic predisposition and environmental interaction; they are not the result of disease or injury.

After a long time away from the regular school routine, students with ADHD and autism may have turbulent transitions back to in-person school. Social Stories is a strategy to help and support children improve social schools and reduce anxiety.

What is Critical Race Theory?

Lately, a lot of people have been very upset about “critical race theory.” Back in September 2020, the former president directed federal agencies to cut funding for training programs that refer to “white privilege” or “critical race theory, declaring such programs “un-American propaganda” and “a sickness that cannot be allowed to continue.” In the last few months, at least eight states have passed legislation banning the teaching of CRT in schools and some 20 more have similar bills in the pipeline or plans to introduce them. What’s going on?

East Asian Mid-Autumn Festival

In ancient China, the Mid-Autumn Festival was first celebrated to give thanks for a bountiful harvest and the gifts of family. It’s one of the three big annual festivals designated for the living — the others are Chinese New Year and the Dragon Boat Festival. The 2020 Netflix movie, Over the Moon, is inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Anti-racism tools

As parents, caregivers, and community members, we have a responsibility to ensure everyone is safe from racism and has equitable opportunities to thrive. In order to do this, we must begin with ourselves.

Gender inclusivity by using pronouns

You may have noticed that people are sharing their pronouns in introductions, name tags, and Zooms. This is happening to make spaces more inclusive of transgender, gender nonconforming, and gender non-binary people. Including pronouns is a first step toward respecting people’s gender identity, working against cisnormativity, and creating a more welcoming space for people of all genders.

*** Es posible que haya notado que las personas comparten sus pronombres en presentaciones, etiquetas de nombre y Zooms. Esto está sucediendo para hacer que los espacios sean más inclusivos para las personas transgénero, de género no conforme y de género no binario.
